Accommodation Contract
These Accommodation Terms apply to accommodation contracts between Machiya Inn Co., Ltd. (“we”, “us” or “our”) and guests. Where a plan, booking screen, travel agent or OTA provides specific terms, those terms take precedence.
Article 1 (Scope)
These Terms apply to accommodation contracts with us. Special provisions that do not contravene laws or custom take precedence.
Article 2 (Application)
An applicant must provide the guest name, property name, contact details available on the day of arrival, number of guests and other information we reasonably require.
Article 3 (Formation and Payment)
A contract is formed when we accept an application. The full accommodation charge must be paid by the specified date. Amounts shown at booking include taxes and service charges.
Article 4 (Refusal)
We may refuse a contract where accommodation is unavailable or where there is a reasonable concern about illegality, public-order concerns, nuisance to guests or neighbours, false declarations, non-payment, antisocial forces or another reason making accommodation inappropriate.
Article 5 (Changes and Cancellations)
Changes and cancellations must be made by the method set by us or the booking provider. A basic policy may be 100% for no-show or the day of arrival, 50% from one to three days before arrival, 30% from four to fourteen days before arrival, and 0% fifteen days or more before arrival. However, the specific conditions shown for the selected plan and booking channel, including Tripla at the time of booking, take precedence.
Article 6 (Exceptions to Cancellation Charges)
We may waive a charge, subject to necessary evidence, in circumstances we accept individually, including death, an accident not attributable to the guest, or cancellation or material delay of public transport.
Article 7 (Termination by Us)
We may terminate a contract and require departure where there is unlawful conduct, noise or nuisance, damage, smoking in a non-smoking area, false declarations or another reasonable basis that makes continued accommodation inappropriate.
Article 8 (Guest Registration)
Guests must register name, address, contact details, nationality and passport number where applicable, and other information required by law or our guidance.
Article 9 (Hours of Use)
Unless otherwise stated, use of the property is from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. the following day. Any extension is subject to availability, charges and our guidance.
Article 10 (Compliance)
Guests must comply with prior notices, check-in instructions, information in the property and these Terms.

Our properties are not staffed on site. Follow the contact and emergency instructions provided at booking or during the stay.
Article 12 (Our Liability)
Where damage is caused by a matter attributable to us, we will respond in accordance with applicable law and these Terms.
Article 13 (Unavailability of the Contracted Property)
If we cannot provide the contracted property, we will endeavour to arrange an alternative with the guest’s agreement. Where an alternative cannot be provided, the handling will follow applicable law and the booking conditions.
Article 14 (Former Delivery Service)
We do not currently provide a luggage delivery service.
Article 15 (Valuables)
