History of the location

Stay near the former Heian Palace

Kyoto has never had just one permanent centre. Its political, residential, commercial, cultural, and transport centres shifted over time.

Demizu-Machiya is a separate private townhouse from the six-house Heian Palace group, set within the same wider historical landscape of Kamigyo.
